lyrics

Just add milk
I found in the dusty den when I awoke
A small bejeweled box where lost pills go

Settle the little changes of the body’s blood in morning cold
Leave me the certain smells that oil the sleeper’s waking mould

Until the day
The little crust is broken, I know it
And they climb
Ever slipping down
Why don’t I go
Walk a little, outside?
The trees are there for your madness
Go to them

I love a fair fight
Like the one that’s shucking my insides
I know what I said
No one gets a ride in

Settle the little changes of the body’s blood in morning cold
Leave me the certain smells
Leave me the certain smells that oil the sleeper’s waking mould

The older boys
Terrorizing the tennis courts
Courting the beat cops for a chase on Escapeboards
A salterello
A dance in masculine clothes
There are no adults in the city and then:

What do you know?
A yellowing imperial
Forget it!
What do you know?
This is the home of it
This is the home of it
In the arthritic fist of slow lace
Slow, slow lace
The obscurantist hands
And their patterns and plans

I know, I know they’re back there
Two times: I know they’re back there
I know…I know…
I know they’re back
They’re back…
And the only question was
How to get ahead on such short notice
How to get a bed on such short notice
How to land ahead on such short notice
